Swing States: Romney Doesn’t Care About Us – Voters back Obama, and really back his plan to hike taxes on top 2%

(NEWSER) – Barack Obama is leading in Ohio, Pennsylvania, and Florida, in part because voters don’t think Mitt Romney is looking out for them, according to a new Quinnipiac/New York Times/CBS News poll. Both candidates polled fairly evenly when it came to how voters thought they’d handle the economy, which is overwhelmingly seen as the most important issue. But when asked if they believed Obama “cares about the needs and problems of people like you,” a majority said he did in all three states—the opposite was true for Romney.

“Romney does have business experience,” said one respondent. But “he was in business in order to make a profit. There’s nothing wrong with that, but how would that help the country?” Overall, Obama is winning by 6 points in Ohio and Florida, and by 11 points in Pennsylvania
