4 Reasons Why Republicans Won’t Be Able To Repeal Obamacare | ThinkProgress

Responding to Thursday’s Supreme Court decision upholding the constitutionality of the Affordable Care Act, Congressional Republicans have scheduled a vote in the House to repeal the law and Mitt Romney pledged to undo the measure if he’s elected president in November. But unless the GOP wins a super majority in the Senate — a scenario no one thinks is plausible — it can do little more than weaken Obamacare’s regulations and defund some of its provisions. Here is why:

    • I find it hilarious that none of you claimed this was a “tax” until Roberts did. You understand that he wrote the decision in such a way as to provide Republicans with an issue for the fall. He (like Scalia and Thomas, both disgraces) cannot seem to act judicially non-partisan, nor do they try. The act saves money and extends coverage to more people. Is it perfect? No. We should have a single-payer system like every other civilized nation in the world. Instead we have whining and obstructionism from a radicalized right-wing party who’s tactics often mirror the Nazis in terms of ginning up hatred and fear — all because their policies are horrible and have led us to ruin.

      • Roberts’ definition of the health reform is important because this is how he finds it constitutional in the majority opinion. This is why I am using him for why it is appropriate to call it a tax; because legally, it is a tax. I can’t believe you think that ALL right winged individuals are similar to that of Nazis. I thought that the left was morally superior? Isn’t it wrong to judge a large group of people? Isn’t that tactic similar to that of the Nazis? Do me a favor, why don’t you go meet some Holocaust victims or even start with opening a book, then you can talk about the Nazis.

        • We laugh at you know. We point and laugh at your ridiculous ignorance and refusal to face reality. We laugh when you twist yourself into knots trying to defend policies that have brought us to ruin; reject policies that were once conservative only because the Black President supports them; and defend obvious frauds like Romney. What will you do when he’s forced to step aside? Nominate Santorum and Rand Paul? Good luck with that. We laugh at you as if you were monkeys playing with a cellphone. You’re entire movement has degenerated into a bizarre mix of racism, superstition, conspiracy theories and utter nonsense. I was a Republican once, but they drove me away with their insanity. And the worst part? You know in your heart everything I just wrote is true — but you are too afraid to admit you were duped by proto-fascists. As I said, good luck with all that.

          • There is no point to attacking arguments that don’t make logical sense. So I didn’t bother. You can read what I think in my entries, that will explain. Please read a recent post, “Conservative, Hear My Plea.” Then you’ll understand, I promise. I wish you the best.
